St Hilda’s Latex Workshop-March 2018
Back in March 2018, the Head of the St Hilda’s Art Department Eliza Leano shot me an email and asked if I would like to do a Makeup Effects with Latex Rubber Workshop? So, I gathered my gear and headed out to Claremont.
I have been providing workshops to St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls for a few years now and it is always a blast! The students are always super keen to learn and very respectful.
Eliza informed me that they had a Makeup Effects booth that they were setting up for an event and they needed some new ideas.
So, over the course of 2 hours we did: A leg gash, A hand with peeled skin exposing tendons, A black eye, A laceration that could be sewn up, Intestines, A bullet wound and A zombie hand.
Well, in all my years of teaching, I do not think I have ever seen a group take to an art project so fast. By the end of the two hours, the tables looked like they had come out of the set of Dexter!
There was latex, blood and bruises everywhere! It was soo much fun and I was so proud!
Well done Ladies!
